For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. – Jesus, Matthew 6:21
Jesus taught that our stewardship of time, talents and spiritual gifts, and material resources are indicators of our hearts, and Paul taught that we should give cheerfully and sacrificially in response to the love of God. God offers us all the opportunity of being partners in the work that what He wants to do in the world.
